DroneAware is the first of it's kind, made in Ukraine, short-range attack drone awareness training. DroneAware is a brief training meant to sensitize civilians, humanitarian and development workers to the threats posed by short-range attack drones.

Undoubtedly, attack drones have dramatically changed the battlefield as well as the threats to people living and working near high risk areas. DroneAware was designed to fill a critical safety training gap and leads the sector by staying on the leading edge of evolutions of this threat.

This training has been delivered to hundreds of humanitarian aid workers in Ukraine and has already been attributed to having saved lives.

The Drone Threat

As of September 2025, according to a publication released by the United Nations Human Rights ‘Ukraine’s Civilians Face Daily Death and Injury Amid Intense Attacks, UN Human Rights Monitors Say’: “…The leading cause of casualties near the frontline remained short-range drone attacks, predominantly with First-Person-View drones. As nearly 30 per cent of all civilian casualties were caused by this type of weapon…”.

Undoubtedly, short-range attack drones are an currently a massive contributor to civilian injuries and deaths as the war in Ukraine enters it’s 12th year. russian forces regularly indiscriminately target civilians to terrorize populations and often, inhumanly, for target practice.

Drone Awareness & Safety Online Training

Safer Ukraine acknowledges and confronts the drone threat to civilian populations directly by offering ‘Drone Awareness and Safety Training’ to Ukrainian communities.

DroneAware - Online

DroneAware – Online is the first of its kind, designed in Ukraine, short-range attack drone awareness and safety course.

This drone awareness and safety online training is:

  • Meant for teenagers, adults and children who are guided by adults;
  • Public organizations, rescuers, police, military and families.

Format:

  • 1 hour;
  • 5 modules;
  • self-paced online learning.

Will teach users:

  • technical specifications of FPV drones;
  • their limitations;
  • methods of selecting targets by operators;
  • risk reduction methods;
  • reaction to a threat on foot and in a car.
